Give an established business a digital presence to match
Turner Timber didn’t need to build credibility. It already had it.
With decades of experience, more than 150 years of combined team expertise, in-house design and manufacturing, STA credentials and three projects featured on Grand Designs, there was plenty for potential customers to trust.
The problem was that the previous website wasn’t showing enough of it.
The design felt dated and relied heavily on information rather than visual proof. Turner Timber had a growing library of completed projects and high-quality photography, but the website wasn’t giving that work the space or prominence it deserved.
Behind those finished homes was also a complex technical offer spanning design, manufacture, structural support, timber frames, trusses, joists, delivery and erection. The new website needed to make that expertise easier to understand without oversimplifying what Turner Timber actually does.
Our job was to create a digital presence that felt as considered and capable as the business behind it.
Two audiences, one expert
Turner Timber speaks to two very different types of customer.
For a self-builder, the project can be the biggest investment they will ever make. They’re weighing up suppliers and looking for reassurance that their home is going to be in safe hands.
Developers need technical confidence, consistency, capacity and a partner capable of supporting the demands of a wider programme.
The challenge was making the same expertise work for both.
- Speaking to both without alienating either. Self-builders need straightforward guidance. Developers need detail.
- Helping people find the right route quickly. The right journey needed to be obvious from the moment they arrived.
- Keeping Turner Timber’s expertise equal. Both audiences needed to feel equally important.
- Turning technical detail into confidence. The website needed to demonstrate expertise plainly.
Ultimately, both audiences were looking for proof. Just different kinds of it.
Let the work speak for itself
We redesigned Turner Timber’s website around clarity, credibility and visual proof, giving its craftsmanship, technical expertise and completed projects far more space to shine.
Clear routes for two audiences with dedicated journeys for Self Builders and Developers from the homepage.
Photography brought front and centre so completed homes, factory imagery and Grand Designs projects could do more of the persuading.
Shared trust signals throughout including STA credentials, technical specifications, energy efficiency and in-house manufacturing expertise.
A stronger inspiration journey built around real projects, helping visitors explore the quality and possibilities of timber frame construction.
A dedicated Book a Tour experience guiding visitors from online research to seeing Turner Timber’s factory, team and process first-hand.
A clearer service structure reflecting how Turner Timber actually works across design, manufacture, delivery, erection and support.
A website that makes the quality easier to see
Turner Timber now has a website that gives its craftsmanship, technical expertise and project history the space they deserve, while making it easier for different audiences to find what matters to them.
- Clearer journeys help Self Builders and Developers quickly find content relevant to their needs.
- Larger imagery and stronger project presentation give completed homes and Grand Designs work more impact.
- Technical credentials, in-house manufacturing and service expertise are easier to understand throughout the site.
- The Inspiration and Book a Tour journeys give visitors more ways to explore Turner Timber’s work and build confidence in the business.
- The site now feels more consistent with the scale, quality and reputation Turner Timber has already built offline.
The redesign gave Turner Timber a digital presence that matches the quality of the business behind it.
Clearer customer journeys, stronger visual proof and a more joined-up presentation of its expertise make it easier for visitors to understand what Turner Timber does, trust how it works and see the craftsmanship for themselves.
Design that lets the work lead
Not every website needs to shout louder.
Sometimes the strongest design decision is simply making the good stuff easier to see.
For Turner Timber, that meant putting real homes, real expertise and real craftsmanship ahead of marketing noise, then giving two very different audiences a simple way to find the proof that matters to them.
When the product is a craft, the website should show the work.
