Motiva
A calmer way into therapy, from a charity people already trust
A new private therapy brand with Mind’s values at its heart
Hull and East Yorkshire Mind has delivered therapy for children, young people and adults for almost ten years, including a paid-for private service. Motiva launches that service as its own, more modern brand: still part of the charity, with the same values, and with the income going back into local mental health support.
The brief was a website that feels as quick and easy as the online therapy platforms people see advertised, while keeping the ethics, safeguarding and BACP-registered therapists people trust Mind for.
Speed and trust, for two very different audiences
Motiva serves Hull and the East Riding: a younger, urban, digitally confident audience that wants quick access, and an older audience that puts trust, ethics and values first. Parents looking for support for their children needed a clear route too.
There were barriers to remove as well. People often expect a charity service to be free, so pricing had to be clear from the start. Therapy can feel like a luxury people put off, and for many, especially young people, not knowing what to expect is a worry in itself. Hull and East Yorkshire Mind had also learned that a short form followed by a quick, human response made a real difference to how many people went on to start therapy.
A simple, reassuring journey from first visit to first session
We designed and built the Motiva website around one idea: make it easy to take the first step, and make it feel safe to do so. Every page was designed to be warm, simple and bold but soft, avoiding anything that felt corporate or clinical.
A short, step-by-step referral form that starts on the homepage and asks only what’s needed, so getting started takes minutes.
Clear pricing and a free initial consultation, so it’s obvious from the start that this is a paid service, with no surprises later.
Therapist profiles and careful matching, so people can see who they might work with and why that relationship matters.
Separate routes for young people and adults, with plain-English explanations of what therapy can look like.
A distinctive illustration style and calm colour palette drawn from the Mind brand, giving Motiva its own identity.
Conversion tracking through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, ready for paid search campaigns from launch.
Launched with a campaign behind it
Motiva launched in June 2026, supported by print, GP outreach and social media, with TH3 planning and running its Google Ads to put Motiva at the top of local searches for therapy.
- A referral journey that takes minutes rather than a lengthy form.
- Pricing, the free consultation and what happens next explained before anyone gets in touch.
- A clear, trusted route into therapy for people across Hull and East Yorkshire.
- Every enquiry tracked from the first click to the completed referral.
Motiva gives people in Hull and East Yorkshire a faster route to ethical, professional therapy, and gives a local charity a new way to fund the support it provides.
The website carries the trust of the Mind name into a new, modern brand, so people can get started quickly and feel confident about who they’re trusting with their mental health.
Trust and ease can work together
For a charity launching a paid service, the website has two jobs: be as easy to use as the big online platforms, and as trustworthy as the charity behind it.
By keeping the journey short, the pricing clear and the tone calm, Motiva shows that a local, ethical service can feel every bit as modern as the alternatives.
