Streets Chartered Accountants and Yorkshire Association of Business Angels (YABA) teamed up to deliver an exciting event for start up, early years and established business ventures in the Hull and Humber region. The event included a presentation from, Andrew Burton, Chairman of Yorkshire Association, networking and an exclusive opportunity to pitch to a panel of potential investors. The panel comprised of Andrew Burton, Stephen Martin, Chief Executive of the Clugston Group, Mike Booth, experienced business angel and Andrew Manderfield, Partner, Streets Chartered Accountants.

A number of companies were selected to pitch to the panel including Muddy Boot Foods, Antyx Animation, Ed’s Toyland and Fan Frames. Each company following their pitch answered a series of questions from the panel. A hot buffet was provided along with a chance to network for both pitchers and investors in the audience before the winning company was announced.

Fan Frames stole the show with their pitch ‘blowing the panel away’ with an insight into their niche business, Founders Paul Gibson, Chris Birkett & Keith Gibson showed a passion for their company and clearly demonstrated their tireless energy since setting up the company nine months ago. The questions from the panel could have gone on all evening and showed the team have very clear ambitions for the project. The team was presented with a bottle of Champagne to celebrate winning the event and a cheque for £1,000 worth of accounting fees from Streets Chartered Accountants.

The team would like to thank everyone involved at YABA & Streets for organising the event; giving Hull & Humber businesses a chance to practice their pitches and network with potential investors attending the event. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definately support similar events in the future!
